Stephanie Feirsen 

M.A., CCC-SLP

Stephanie is the co-founder and co-owner of Easy Expression. She graduated with honors from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. She then received her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and graduated with honors from CUNY Queens College. Stephanie is a licensed speech language pathologist in New York and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She also has certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). Stephanie has presented twice at the prestigious American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)’s National Conference. She currently works in New York City public schools at the high school level, where she plays a pivotal role in a groundbreaking program for students on the autism spectrum. Stephanie’s strengths include assessing and executing therapeutic treatment plans for clients with a broad range of disorders and delays. Her special interests include treating social pragmatic delays, autism spectrum disorders, executive function, receptive and expressive language delays, speech sound disorders, language based learning disabilities, and accent modification. Stephanie believes in a developmentally appropriate approach to speech-language therapy and in treating the “whole” person. Collaboration is an important part of Stephanie’s approach to therapy; she tries to involve the entire “team” (if applicable, other related service providers, family members, and teachers). She utilizes a strengths-based approach to therapy and strives to make sessions fun and functional. She enjoys working with clients of all ages and designs each session to meet their unique, individual needs.

Marissa Kleiman 

M.S., CCC-SLP

Marissa is the co-founder and co-owner of Easy Expression. Marissa graduated with honors and a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development from Binghamton University in New York. She received her Master’s of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and an Advanced Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Brooklyn College. Marissa is a licensed speech language pathologist in New York and Maryland and is certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She currently works part-time as a clinical supervisor, where she mentors and supervises students pursuing a master’s degree in speech-language pathology.  Previously, Marissa was employed in both elementary and middle schools in New York, Florida, and Maryland. Marissa has extensive experience working with students who present with a wide range of communication disorders, including language-based learning disabilities, receptive/expressive language disorders, autism spectrum disorders, speech sound disorders, pragmatic deficits, and Down syndrome. Additionally, Marissa has worked with students who struggle in the areas of reading and writing.  She enjoys attending workshops and learning new approaches. She is particularly interested in literacy, language-based learning disabilities, executive functioning, and accent modification. Marissa is certified in the Orton-Gillingham Reading Program and the Compton PESL Accent Modification Program,  with additional trainings in Story Grammar Marker, Lively Letters, and Social Thinking. She has provided trainings for teachers while working in New York and served as a mentor for students. Marissa was also interviewed by WJZ to share her success with telepractice. Marissa believes in the importance of collaboration and including the family and educators in the therapy process. She treats the whole individual, playing to their strengths and working on their weaknesses.
